The monitor cover

The glass plate that covers the monitor and carries the bezel was made by my local glazier from 1/4" flat glass. It sits in a slot i routed into the cabinet sides. I didn't find a 1/4" routing bit, so i use a 5/8" bit and fill the space with a small strip of wood.

The upper edge of the plate lies in a slot in the vertical part of the cabinet top. I made this slot, which is a little wider than 1/4", with a circular saw before the top was put together.

The lower edge of the monitor cover is supported by a 4" strip of wood, that doubles as the stopper for the exchangeable control panel. I'll also place the controls for the monitor and speakers here.

The monitor cover sits in its place.

The next thing to do is the door on the front.
